School News & Updates

We now have the My Child at School App up and running, click on the title to get more information about this new communication tool for parents and carers.

We would like to direct you to our contact page which shows up to date bus timetables and routes and directions for cars from the nearest two Motorway junctions. You can also find our full address, email address and telephone number.

From 1 September 2019, Winterhill School will go cashless.  This means that all money for trips and other school items must be paid using our e-payment method, Parentpay.  This can be done online using ParentPay’s very secure website or in cash at local stores where you see the PayPoint logo.  There will also be the facility to put money onto your child’s dinner money account.

All students have been given a letter to bring home with individual user names and passwords to set up ParentPay. If you have not received a letter please contact the finance office for a copy to be issued.

Contact details - keep us in the loop

Please remember to keep the school up to date with any changes to your phone numbers, email address or house address. Not just for emergencies but also to keep you up to date with your child's progress and any letters we may wish to send to you.

We define parental engagement as the involvement of parents in supporting their children’s academic learning. We were using a system called School Gateway but due to changes in systems at school we can no longer use this but are moving to a better and more integrated system. This new approach to parental engagement will be more likely to produce positive results.

Some information for Parents/carers and guardians about a great resource called Sam learning and how to get support in using it.

May Day 2020

Next year's early May bank holiday will be moved back by four days for the whole of the UK to coincide with the 75th anniversary of VE Day. The holiday page has been updated to show this change. Clicking on the title of this news item will take you to the BBC's report on this.
