BBC Bitesize Careers Tour

Last Friday, Winterhill School had the privilege of hosting the BBC Bitesize Careers Tour. The event, led by BBC presenter Ross Fiddes, featured engaging workshops designed to inspire students about their future career possibilities.

The workshops included a panel discussion with three remarkable professionals from diverse industries:

Roger Simpson – BBC Lead News Director

Thahmina Begum – Artist & Art Psychotherapist (Freelance)

Danny Asquith – CNC and Belt Production Line Manager, SBD Apparel

Ross facilitated insightful conversations with the panelists, exploring their career journeys and addressing topics such as relevant qualifications, personal experiences, advice on gaining work experience, and the importance of soft skills in the workplace.

Our students showed great enthusiasm, actively listening, and asking thoughtful questions throughout the sessions. They also had the chance to engage with the BBC team to learn about other career opportunities within the organisation.

We were delighted to see our students inspired by the event and motivated to explore new possibilities for their futures.
