Extra Curricular Activities

There are a wide range of extra-curricular activities for students to become involved with at Winterhill School. Students are encouraged by their tutors to be actively involved in enrichment activities. These activities provide further opportunities for students to further develop personal qualities such as teamwork, leadership and communication skills, that have a positive impact on attainment and achievement.

There is also a range of trips to support, further develop and supplement the broad enrichment provision at Winterhill School.

Assemblies throughout the academic year also provide further opportunities for enrichment, with recent themes including: Holocaust Memorial Day, E-Safety, British Values, Keeping Safe, and Cultural Diversity. Students in Years 7 and 8 also participate in launch and exit events to support each IMYC theme that they study. Recent examples include, bridge building in Technology, creative news reporting in English and adaptive animals in Science. Students also have the opportunity to have peripatetic music lessons for a range of musical instruments.
