Tanzania 2019

The start of our journey

Over the next year we plan to organise a number of events from bag packs to race nights, we have recently wrote to Friends of Winterhill to ask them start this amazing journey by providing us with the funds to purchase some charity buckets for the team. Today we have  received the excellent news that our application was successful.

>>>Raising Money...

With the support shown by Friends of Winterhill we are able to kick our fundraising off with a fabulous opportunity on 7th May 2018 at Bunnings Warehouse Rotherham. We will be participating in their ‘sausage sizzle’. Please come along to Bunnings where you can purchase a variety of home improvement products but treat yourself to one of our deliciously cooked sausage sandwiches whilst supporting our cause.

>>>Monday 07th May 2018 - Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings
Students get their fundraising off with a ‘banger’ by raising funds through a sausage sizzle stall at Bunnings warehouse, Rotherham. They started at 7.45 and finished at 4.00. Throughout the day they were selling freshly cooked sausage sandwiches for £1.50 and ice cold drinks for £1. The profits raised will go on securing a room booking at the Pheonix Sports Club in Brinsworth for some future events including a race night planned for the 30th November.

>>>Saturday 1st December 2018 - Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings
Bunning's have confirmed Saturday 1st December for another Sausage sizzle. More to follow....

>>>Tuesday 12th June 2018 - Fashion Show at Winterhill

Staff and parents strutted their stuff on the catwalk and helped raise funds for Tanzania. Students supported with some amazing stalls including selling cakes, hanging baskets and handmade glasses. SOS Charity fashion show also donated £50 vouchers which were successfully raffled off. A fun night was had by all and many amazing outfits were purchased.

>>>Saturday 23rd June 2018 - Bag Pack at Tesco’s

Its official our bags are now packed… well not quite, however students gained first-hand experience on how to pack bags by raising funds doing just that at TESCO’s in Rotherham. Students worked hard between 10.00 and 14.00 on Saturday. A massive thank you to everyone who kindly supported us on that day.

>>>Tuesday 26th June 2018 – Summer Fair

Thorpe Hesley Juniors had their summer fair today, the weather was fantastic and the students set up stalls including name the teddy, pick a straw, pasta challenge and the teddy tombola. A great afternoon was had by all.
