New Year 7 for 2023
Dear Parent/Carer
I hope that you and your families are well.
Our staff and students are very much looking forward to welcoming Year 6 students to Winterhill, and so I am writing to inform you that your child’s transition to Year 7 will begin on Monday 11th July for the final weeks of this academic year. Contained in the transitions pack is information about the expectations we have of your son/daughter when they join us, and information about the transition itself.
As you know, your child will be joining a high achieving comprehensive school, where we put great emphasis on personal development as well as academic achievement. Alongside this, we expect everyone to uphold our Winterhill ethos of showing respect, responsibility and resilience. It is these values which uphold all aspects of school life, underpinned by our guiding principle that, ‘other people matter’.
In order to prepare for your child’s arrival at Winterhill, we are continuing to put in place the support networks they may need, as well as organising important information to ensure your child can continue to build on the excellent progress they have made during their primary years.
In order to do this, and if you haven’t completed it already, there is a ‘Transition Data Collection Form' that needs completing and returning to Winterhill at your earliest convenience by post, by email using transitions@winterhill.org.uk. or by completing the Google form following the link below, or using the the QR code or by downloading the form in a Microsoft word format and returning it to us.
