We ask parents and carers to support our uniform policy by ensuring that students arrive each day dressed appropriately and in full uniform. This not only reinforces the high standards we set at Winterhill, but also prepares our young people for the expectations of the wider world, including future education and employment.

Uniform Expectations at Winterhill

Equally important is that students come to school fully equipped and ready to learn. Having the right eqipment: pens, pencils, rulers, calculators and a full size school bag—not only supports active participation in lessons, but also builds personal responsibility and organisation. When students are properly prepared, they can make the most of every learning opportunity and develop the habits needed for lifelong success.

Therefore, please ensure your child has a school bag with them every day; big enough to fit A4 sized books/folders. More details can be seen in the Uniform Expectations above.

We also place great importance on students wearing the correct PE kit for physical education lessons. PE is a vital part of the curriculum, supporting both physical health and mental wellbeing. Wearing the correct kit ensures that students can participate safely and comfortably, while also reinforcing team spirit and school identity. Please ensure that your child brings their full PE kit on the appropriate days so they can take full advantage of these sessions.

Students must have: A Winterhill PE shirt, shorts and appropriate footwear. Winterhill logo hoodie is optional.
